On June 10, 1997 a NYS Record Brown Trout was boated on the Dixie Dandy. The huge fish weighed in at 33lbs 2 ounces breaking the existing record by over 2 pounds. The lucky angler aptly named Tony Brown from Schenectady, NY did a masterful job of landing this giant on 8lb test line with 6 lb leader. The fish hit a Smithwick Rogue trolled from a flat line in about 25 feet of water. The battle lasted for 30 long, long minutes. Biologists estimated the fish to be a least 7 years old.
